These rules & regulations have been established to ensure the safety of the parade participants as well as parade spectators & to comply with our insurance requirements. Please review these rules & regulations carefully as these will be strictly enforced. Any person or group in violation of these rule s & regulations will be removed from the parade, may be fined up to $500 & banned from future participation.
For 95% of participants, the placement in line is based on arrival time to the parade grounds. If you want to be closer to the front then arrive early.
BRING WATER AND STAY HYDRATED!
While we attempt to accommodate as many wishes as possible, there are a number of factors that determine your placement in the Parade. The direction and the decision of the Parade Officials at the launch site are final.
There is no free parking for parade participants. Parking is available in the high school lot entrance at Ft Lauderdale High School, 1600 N 4th Ave, Ft Lauderdale for $20.
Rules Affecting All Parade Entries
- All registrations and associated entry fees must be in full in order to secure your place in the parade line-up.
- Any entry arriving after 3:00 PM on the day of the parade may not be able to participate in the parade. All late arrivals will be placed as space and time permit but are not guaranteed.
- No items can be thrown into the crowd. Giveaways including candy, beads, stickers etc. must be handed from walkers to spectators, but not in a way that causes a safety hazard or slows down the progression of the parade.
- No open flames or fireworks of any kind are permitted.
- Entrants, if playing music, are responsible for supplying their own sound system.
- In order to avoid large gaps in the parade, stopping for performances or demonstrations will not be allowed unless approved in advance.
- Law enforcement officials & Parade Managers will direct the flow of the parade. Please allow for at least 20 ft between each entry.
- Positions are assigned to ensure the best parade experience for entrants & viewers. Special requests will be considered but are not guaranteed.
- You and your entire group must listen to and comply with all directions given by law enforcement officials and Parade Managers.
- No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be allowed to operate a motor vehicle during the parade. The Parade Managers reserves the right to remove any participant, for any activity deemed unsafe or in violation of any rules contained herein, or action or inaction that may cause any delay to the progress of the parade.
- The Wilton Manors Entertainment Group, Inc.(WMEG) have final authority over the acceptability of all entries and the position of all entries in the parade line up.
- WMEG reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet the requirements. If any doubt as to whether or not an entry conforms to these requirements, please contact WMEG in advance with entry description. No refunds will be given for entries that fail to meet these requirements.
- Parade organizers and/or sponsors assume no liability for any property damage or personal injuries.
- All parade fees are non-refundable.
- Groups will not be allowed to display any campaigning or advertising material that has not been approved by WMEG in advance. Parade Managers have the authority at the site to remove any sign or banner deemed not acceptable. Failure to comply will eliminate vehicle/group from the parade.
- All vehicles signage must conform to the spirit of the parade
“Animals” here refers to horses, elephants and other large animals, not cats, dogs, or other household pets. Those planning to have animals within their contingent must make prior arrangements with WMEG. In accordance with city ordinances, you are responsible for cleaning up after your animals in the parade assembly area and along the parade route.
Rules Affecting Specific Entry Types
All drivers must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a valid driver’s license, have a valid registration & insurance.
- A copy of the driver’s license, registration & insurance must be submitted to WMEG. by email to vpo@wmeg.org no later than 5 PM on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021.
- Picking up passengers during the parade is prohibited.
- Signs and banners are limited to two (6) per float with a banner size that fits on the float. Any exceptions must receive approval from Wilton Manors Entertainment Group prior to the date of the event.
- Vehicles will not be allowed to display any campaigning or advertising material that is not directly related to the group registration.
- Parade Managers have authority at the site to remove any sign or banner deemed not acceptable. Failure to comply will eliminate vehicle/group from the parade.

All entries must comply with the following maximum dimensions. Entries that are larger than this will be unable to maneuver the parade route or may be unable to clear power lines and other obstacles.
- Height: 1 2 feet (to clear power lines)
- Length: 4 0 feet
- Width: 100 inches (including rails)
- Street Clearance: 12 inches above the ground
